This Safety Orange 550 Type 111 Parachute Cord is the genuine article.
Made in the USA to government specifications with 7 inner strands.
550 means pounds test strength
The inner strands can be taken out to provide fine thread for sewing repairs
or even made into a fishing line.
After cutting to length you heat the end of the cord with a flame to make a permanent seal.
